Vinho Verde Sousa Sub-region

The municipality and city of Lousada are part of the District of Porto, sub-region of Tâmega and Sousa, in the former Douro Litoral, Northern region of Portugal.

Lousada is located northeast of the city of Porto, from which it is 30 km away as the crow flies, and 46 km by car in 45 minutes via the A41 and A42 motorways.

11th Largest Producer of Vinho Verde

With a production volume of approximately 2,220,628 liters (2020-2021 season), the municipality of Lousada is the 11th largest producer of Vinho Verde in Portugal, behind Felgueiras, Penafiel, Celorico de Basto, Amarante, Ponte de Lima, Melgaço, Monção, Barcelos, Valongo and Ponte da Barca, out of a total of 48 municipalities..


The City of Camellias

The city of Lousada is known throughout Europe for its International Camellia Festival, held every year.

Location

From the city of Porto to Lousada, in a straight line, it is only km. The city of Felgueiras is located southeast of the Cradle City of Portugal.
The municipality of Lousada borders, to the north and northwest, with Vizela, to the northeast with Felgueiras, to the east, with Amarante, to the south with Penafiel, ao sudeste com Amarante, to the southwest with Paredes and to the west with Paços de Ferreira and Santo Tirso.
