Aletria (Vermicelli)

vermicelli Sweet vermicelli is cooked in milk with an orange or lemon peel, and carries egg yolks, brown sugar, butter (or margarine) and when ready sprinkles cinnamon. Sweet much appreciated.

King Cake

Typical Portuguese cake consumed mainly between Christmas and Magi Day. It takes raisins and candied fruits. This cake contains a bean that rewards anyone to find it.

Cavaca

Typical Portuguese sweet of origin in the convents. Contains sugar, eggs, flour, sunflower oil and vanilla. The cavaca de Resende is quite popular.

Dom Rodrigo

Very popular and typical sweet of the Algarve. Originating in the convents, Dom Rodrigo is made with sugar and eggs.

Children

Another typical sweet made with sugar and eggs fried in vegetable oil.

Soft eggs from Aveiro

Another typical Portuguese sweet and of convent origin and the city of Aveiro, made with sugar and eggs. This sweet is certified - it was the first Portuguese sweet to be certified - and it is mentioned Ovos Moles de Aveiro IGP (Protected Geographical Indication).

Cream cake

Pastéis de nata or Pastéis de Belém are the most traditional Portuguese sweets. The original cream pastels are manufactured in Belém, Lisbon, not served hot, sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon powder. They are considered one of the 7 Wonders of Gastronomy of Portugal.

Cheesecake

Small cake made with cheese (or curd cheese), milk, eggs, sugar and stuffed with almonds, oranges or eggs.

French toast

Typical in Portugal and Brazil, the French toast is made with a loaf of bread similar to a baguette, the slices of which are moistened with milk (or wine), sprinkled with eggs and fried.

Christmas dream

Typical and popular sweets very consumed in the natalia epoch. Made with wheat flour, milk, salt, eggs and fried in oil.

Bacon from heaven

The traditional toucinho do céu sweet from Portugal (and from Spain) from the convents, made with sugar and eggs. The origin of the name is due to the fact that the cake carries lard in its recipe. It takes almonds and plenty of egg yolks.
