Wines

The vineyards of Beira Interior (DOP) are spread on the slopes of Serra da Estrela, 500 - 700m high, in Pinhel and Castelo Rodrigo (north of Guarda) and Cova da Beira, halfway between Guarda and Castelo Branco. Very lively red, Beira Interior (DOP) red wines are very balanced wines.

Main Breeds

For the production of wines from Beira Interior (PDO) the following grapes are used: Cal, Rabo de Ovelha, Syria and Malvasia Fina (whites), Aragonez, Trincadeira, Alfrocheiro, Aragonez, Jaen and Touriga Nacional (red wines), among others .

Excellent Whites, Quality Reds
